Laser Treatment
Lasers are being used more and more today for a whole array of medical procedures; and dentistry is not immune from this trend. We currently use a 810nm soft tissue diode laser for the treatment of an array of tissue related issues. We use our laser for exposing unerupted teeth when doing orthodontics, for removal of chronically inflamed and overgrown gingival tissue, for removal of hematomas, removal and prevention of cold sores, and removal of all forms of soft tissue lesions from fibromas to canker sores. We will also occasionally use the laser when taking impressions for crowns, especially when dealing with implants.
Treatment using the laser to remove a hemangioma on the lip. This procedure is nearly pain free, done without an injection, and only takes 10 minutes. This after photo is 3 weeks later.
